Bear one another's burdens

Help carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ. If someone thinks he is something when he really is nothing, he is only deceiving himself. Each one should judge his own conduct. If it is good, then he can be proud of what he himself has done, without having to compare it with what someone else has done. For everyone has to carry his own load.
Galatians 6:2-5

We ask, Lord for, the strength to think more of others and less of ourselves.
May we be humble enough to serve,
committed enough to pray,
gracious enough to forgive
and kind enough to bless.
Through Christ who gave everything for us.

Compassionate Lord,

we bring before you those who have recently been widowed.

As they face life without their partner

draw close,

comfort,

and give them hope for the future.

Amen

We pray, Lord, for husbands and wives who are standing with their spouse as they face serious illness or disability. Give them courage and strength and the sure knowledge that they are in your hands.

Lord, we bring before you those who have faced the pain of separation or divorce. May they know you, the God of healing and wholeness, as the source of their comfort and strength.

We pray also for those who are in marriage relationships that are damaging or hurtful, asking for your wisdom and guidance. May the right help and encouragement come alongside them.

Unfortunately the Council cannot respond to individual requests for advice and counselling.
Please contact your parish minister for help.
