Parenting

As you, Lord Jesus, shared at Nazareth in the life of an earthly home, bless our homes we pray.
Help parents to share the knowledge of you and your love,
and children to respond with love and obedience.
May our homes be blessed with peace and joy,
for we ask it in your name.

Loving Jesus, we pray that children everywhere

may be loved and nurtured in a peaceful environment.

May they be allowed to grow in wisdom and confidence

and so experience the peace of God in their lives.

Lord grant us as parents, strength and wisdom each day.
As the morning sun rises may we too rise to meet the challenges of every day life.
Keep us loving and patient to listen,
gentle to deal with hurt or pain,
understanding when teenage views are different to our own.
When the road seems uphill, Lord help us.
Then as the stars light up the night sky and the CDs are silent, calm our tired minds and grant us all restful sleep,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
